Consider and take action on an ordinance abolishing the League City Municipal Improvement District (Mayor Paulissen)
Background:
Approval of this item will abolish the League City Municipal Improvement District. On August 25, 2009 City Council adopted Resolution No. 2009-26 granting consent to the creation of the League City Improvement District and inclusion of property within its boundaries. Initial appointments to the Board of Directors were made in May 2009 and the board last met on August 26, 2010.
Section 375.263 of the Local Government Code provides that the District may be dissolved by ordinance if passed by a 2/3 vote of the entire City Council.
