Title
Consider and take action to approve a resolution declaring two (2) pieces of equipment and one truck as surplus property and approve the method to be used to dispose of the property (Director of Finance)
Background:
Approval of this item will authorize the disposal of equipment that has been replaced or removed from the fleet.

· The 2004 Gradall 5200 Trackhoe is recommended to be auctioned as part of the replacement purchase of Gradall LX5200 III on this agenda. This replacement was a part of the FY 2015 equipment replacement program.

· Line Repair’s 2003 Ford Sterling L7500 Vac-Con will be auctioned resulting in a reduction of fleet. Extensive repairs on the vacuum and pump are not cost effective to keep the vehicle in service. Line Repair still has one Vactor and can borrow Street Department’s Vactor in the event of an emergency.

· Unit 754, a 1998 Ford F150, was assigned to Civic Center Operations and approved in the FY 2015 budget to be replaced. It was presented on the January 27 agenda to be declared surplus and disposed of but was removed from the list. Civic Center Operations only needs one vehicle for their day to day operations so Unit 754 was placed in the auction parking lot. When the auction list was presented to Council in July, an oversight occurred as the vehicle list was not updated to include Unit 754. It was sold through online auction July 24, 2015 for $2,200. This item is brought forward for ratification by Council.

Per article VI, Section 2-301 of the City of League City Code of Ordinances, before any property of the City is sold; City Council shall first declare the property surplus and choose the method to be used in disposing of the property. Attached exhibit "A" is the listing of vehicles and equipment.
