Background:

Approval of this item will authorize the annual purchase of water meters for installation for new accounts for the 2015-2016 fiscal year.  Meter purchase and installation is an ongoing function as new home and business construction continues throughout League City.  Staff recommends the purchase of meters that are compatible with the existing system from Aqua Metrics through the HGAC purchasing program.  Purchasing through the HGAC program complies with the State bidding requirements. 

The budget for this expenditure was based upon a new home construction growth rate projection of 3% and estimated commercial needs.
