Recognition of the 2015 Texas Amateur Athletic Federation League City Male and Female Athletes of the Year (Mayor Paulissen)

Background:
Texas Amateur Athletic Federation and the City of League City have the opportunity to recognize one male and female athlete from each affiliated City based on their character and achievements throughout the year. Those athletes are eligible to advance to regional and state athlete of the year recognitions. Due to their success in 2015, the Recreation Department would like to recognize Drew Moreno and Anna Soles as the 2015 Male and Female League City Athletes of the Year.

Drew, age 12, has participated in the League City Parks and Recreation basketball program for three years. One of his finest attributes is sportsmanship. He displays character, unselfish play, and always respects his teammates, coaches and the referees. Drew is a member of the 2014-2015 TAAF basketball team from League City that went on to win the 12U State Championship in Waco. The Recreation Department is proud to recognize Drew Moreno as the 2015 TAAF Male Athlete of the Year for League City.

Anna, age 11, has been playing softball for League City since she was six-years-old. She is also a regular participant in the League City basketball program. She is a great competitor with a great attitude. She demonstrates leadership both on and off the playing field and constantly encourages others to get involved in sports. Her softball team finished 3rd in the state tournament, where she pitched and won 3 games during the two day tournament. As a member of the 10U basketball team, she played point guard for the team that went on to win the League City tournament and advanced to regionals. The Recreation...
