Consider and take action on a resolution approving an expenditure of an amount not to exceed $133,750 to Galls through BuyBoard Contract #432-13 for League City Police Department uniforms and other items (Assistant City Manager)
Background:
Approval of this item will allow the Police Department to purchase uniforms and other items, including rifle plates, with Galls through Buyboard for the remainder of this fiscal year.
In April 2016, the City Council approved a contract with Galls through the BuyBoard contract for an amount not to exceed $85,000 for FY16. This increase in spending authorzation is to provide for the purchase of rifle plates for officers use (front and back) for the concealable vests. This would be intended to outfit our uniformed Patrol Division and Special Operations personnel which would require purchasing approximately 75 sets (150 plates). Each individual plate is $325 ($48,750 for 75 sets).
