Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing the purchase of water meters from Aqua Metrics through the Houston-Galveston Area Council (HGAC) Cooperative Purchasing Program for an amount not to exceed $310,000 (Assistant City Manager)
Background:
Approval of this item will authorize the annual purchase of water meters for installation for new accounts for the 2016-2017 fiscal year. Meter purchase and installation is an ongoing function as new home and business construction continues throughout League City. Staff recommends the purchase of meters that are compatible with the City’s system from Aqua Metrics through the HGAC purchasing program. Purchasing through the HGAC program complies with the State bidding requirements.
The pricing for FY 2017 is the same as FY 2016; with the residential meters at a total cost of $232 each.
