Consider and take action on a resolution to approve an amendment to the contract with O’Reilly Auto Parts through Buyboard cooperative contract #470-14 for various auto parts through November 30, 2017 in an amount not to exceed $195,800 (Director of Public Works)
Background:
Approval of this proposed resolution will authorize the City Manager to execute an amended agreement with O’Reilly Auto Parts utilizing the Buyboard cooperative contract to purchase auto parts and supplies for an amount not to exceed $195,800 through November 30, 2017.
The current contract was approved by council on May 24, 2016, Item 10A, and extended for a one-year period through May 31, 2017, in the amount of $85,000. There has been an increase in auto repairs due to an aging fleet thus causing the need to increase the current contract amount by $38,800 for a total contract price of $123,800 through May 31, 2017.
Staff also recommends extending the current contract through the end of the O’Reilly Auto Parts Buyboard contract which expires on November 30, 2017 for an additional $72,000.
This contract provides competitive pricing and compliance with state bidding law.
