Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing the submittal of a list of projects for the future county-wide bond issue for mobility, drainage and facility improvements proposed for November 2017 to Galveston County, Texas (Director of Public Works)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will allow the City to submit a project list for needed improvements to County infrastructure within the City of League City. As part of our effort to improve mobility, drainage and traffic operations throughout the City, staff has prepared a list of needed infrastructure improvements throughout the city.
A list of projects has been prepared for inclusion into the Galveston County November 2017 bond issue. This list provides a limited number of projects that are important to the City, fill currently identified needs, and do not impose an overly burdensome commitment in terms of local cost.
Projects proposed to be included are discussed in greater detail in the attachment and consist of the following in prioritized order:
1. Dickinson Avenue Reconstruction: 2.15 miles of roadway reconstruction
2. League City Parkway Corridor Improvements
a. Right Turn Lane at I-45
b. SH96 @ Walker
c. SH96 @ SH3
d. League City Parkway @ Brittany Lakes
e. League City Parkway @ Landing Boulevard
f. League City Parkway @ Magnolia Meadow Lane
g. League City Parkway @ Bay Area Boulevard
3. New Traffic Signal: Calder Road @ FM517
4. Palomino Lane: Extension from Clear Springs High School to Grissom Road
5. Bay Area Boulevard: Extension from the American Canal to FM517
6. League City Parkway - Widen League City Parkway between Misty Trails and Maple Leaf
The entire list totals $40,560,000 of which $28,060,000 in bond proceeds would be requested from Galveston County.
