Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a three-year Interlocal Agreement with NASA/JSC for reciprocal use of Emergency Operations Centers, sharing of resources when available, and space for up to 200 persons and 50 emergency vehicles at a hangar located at Ellington Field (Emergency Management Coordinator)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize a three-year Interlocal Agreement with NASA/JSC for reciprocal use of Emergency Operations Centers, sharing of resources when available, and space for up to 200 persons and 50 emergency vehicles at a hangar located at Ellington Field . The Bay Area Emergency Responders (League City, Nassau Bay, Seabrook, Kemah, Webster, and El Lago) and NASA Lyndon B Johnson Space Center (JSC) wish to renew an agreement to provide coordinated responses to a wide spectrum of emergencies affecting the region through the sharing of resources. The City of League City and NASA JSC share a common interest in maintaining the ability to quickly assess, respond to, and recover from natural disasters and other emergencies. This non-reimbursable agreement provides a measure for quickly assessing and responding to disaster should either parties’ EOC be nonoperational as a result of said incident.
