Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing an agreement with the Clear Creek Independent School District Department of Special Services for community-based vocational instruction at Hometown Heroes Park and Helen Hall Library for the 2018-2019 school year (Director of Parks and Cultural Services)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will approve a cooperative agreement with the Clear Creek Independent School District (“CCISD”) Department of Special Services for community-based vocational instruction at Hometown Heroes Park and Helen Hall Library for the 2018-2019 school year.
Ms. Lauren Pilkington of the Clear Creek Independent School District Department of Special Services is requesting this agreement to provide special education students with job skills and job training as part of their career development. The students will participate in job training once a week for one (1) hour at either Hometown Heroes Park or Helen Hall Library. Students will be under the direct supervision of CCISD staff.
CCISD and the City of League City have partnered together for job skills training since 2015 and both have experienced great benefits from the program.
