Consider and take action on a resolution declaring forty-four (44) vehicles, one (1) pumper truck, three (3) zero-turn mowers, four (4) gators, one (1) homemade trailer, and nineteen (19) pieces of equipment as surplus property and authorizing city staff to dispose of the surplus property through public auction or through direct sale (Director of Public Works)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize the disposal of surplus vehicles and equipment. Per Chapter 2, Article VI, Section 2-301 of the City of League City Code of Ordinances, before any property of the City is sold or offered for sale, the property shall first be declared surplus property by resolution duly adopted by the City Council and approve the method to be used in disposing of the property. Attached please find Exhibit “A” which identifies the list of automobiles and equipment proposed for auction.
The City has been using Rene Bates over the past several years for an online auction via the website www.renebates.com. The City will handle the mailing the titles and bill of sales to all winning bidders.
