Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing an agreement with Galls LLC for the purchase of Police Department uniforms and duty gear in an amount not to exceed $130,000 (Chief of Police)
Background:
If approved, this item will allow the Police Department to purchase uniforms and duty gear with Galls through BuyBoard through May 31, 2019, when the current BuyBoard contract expires. Before the expiration of the BuyBoard contract, there will either be an open bid process for uniforms and duty gear for the Police Department, or there will be a request at that time to seek approval to purchase uniforms and duty gear through the company that is awarded the next BuyBoard contract. The uniforms and gear are for all Police Department employees, which includes Sworn personnel, Detention Officers, Telecommunicators, Records, Office and Command Staff.
In October 2015, the City began utilizing Galls through the BuyBoard contract. The Police Department will purchase uniforms and duty gear as needed due to wear, or the hiring of new officers. The Police Department is projected to spend approximately $130,000.
