Consider and take action on a resolution updating and adopting a schedule of fees pertaining to Buildings and Building Regulations - Chapter 22 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of League City (Director of Planning and Development)
Background:
Adoption of this Resolution will update the Buildings and Building Regulation Fee Schedule that was last reviewed and updated in 2016.
Project Timeline:
April 24, 2012 - City Council of League City adopted Resolution No. 2012-19 that consolidated all building related fees into one schedule.
June 13, 2016 - The City Council conducted a workshop to discuss a revenue study related to existing fee schedules.
July 12, 2016 - City Council adopted Resolution No. 2016-77 that amended the fee schedule for all building related fees.
Nov. 13, 2018 - City Council to consider the amended fee schedule for building related fees.
Project Summary:
The City last updated the Building and Building Regulations Fee Schedule in 2016. The proposed changes do not affect existing fees, but will include additional fees as follows:
Building Permit Review Fees:
1. 3rd Review and each Subsequent Review: $200
Re-inspection Fees:
1. 1st Reinspection of the same type: $50
2. 2nd Reinspection of the same type: $200
The purpose of these updated fees is to encourage applicants to address all comments after the first review, and to discourage builders from calling for inspections prior to work being complete.
Staff Recommendation:
Staff recommends approval of this Resolution.
