Title

Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) executed between the League City Police Department (LCPD) and the Houston Police Department (HPD) whereby the Houston Police Department provides remote read-only access to its public safety records management system (RMS) to the League City Police Department’s Crime Analyst Unit (Chief of Police)

Background:

If approved, this MOU will authorize the League City Police Department’s Crime Analyst Unit to access the Houston Police Department’s RMS for criminal justice related purposes. League City Police Department hosts one of the largest law enforcement software consortiums in the country. Gaining access to the Houston Police Department’s law enforcement records will enhance the League City Police Department’s ability to generate actionable intelligence and share crime trends affecting the gulf coast region. Access to the Houston Police Department’s RMS system requires no monetary obligation for the City of League.
