Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing the purchase of Police Department uniforms and duty gear with Galls through BuyBoard (Contract #587-19) in an amount not to exceed $150,000 (Chief of Police)
Background:
If approved, this item will allow the Police Department to purchase uniforms and duty gear with Galls through BuyBoard commencing on October 1, 2019 and shall expire May 31, 2020 with two (2) one-year (1) renewal options available thereafter. The uniforms and gear are for all Police Department employees, which includes Sworn Personnel, Detention Officers, Telecommunicators, Records, Office and Command Staff.
Over the last three years, LCPD’s budget for uniforms and equipment was $139,670 in FY2018, $142,151 in FY2019, and $143,355 in FY2020. This line item will continue to increase each year over the next three years as a result of an increase in personnel and an average of a 5% increase by the company in product cost each year.
