Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a three-year agreement with Cornerstone Maintenance and Landscaping for city-wide manicured mowing services in an amount not to exceed $871,916.58 (Director of Public Works)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize the award of Invitation to Bid (ITB) 19-PW-036 - Exhibit B - Manicured Mowing to Cornerstone Maintenance and Landscaping for city-wide manicured mowing services from December 1, 2019 through September 30, 2022 in an amount not to exceed $871,916.58, with the option to renew for two (2) additional one-year periods. Exhibits A, C, D, and E of ITB Bid #19PW-036 for rough-cut mowing services were awarded to a different vendor (Yellowstone Landscaping - Central, Inc.) on the October 22, 2019 Council Agenda.
On August 19, 2019, League City released ITB 19-PW-036 for City-Wide Mowing Services. Three sealed bids were received on September 10, 2019 from Cornerstone Maintenance and Landscaping, Acescapes, and Yellowstone Landscape - Central, Inc. Cornerstone Maintenance and Landscaping submitted the lowest qualified bid. The proposed annual bid cost of $275,638.86 represents a $7,732.86 increase over the previous contracted amount awarded in September 2018, and includes seven (7) additional mowing locations; Animal Control (2.4 acres), Countryside Magnolia Creek (8.84 acres), Rustic Oaks park (7.9 acres), BLD Skate Park (.35 acres), Helens Garden (.38 acres), Heritage Park (7.81 acres), and Ghirardi Family WaterSmart Park (2.91 acres).
