Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing work change directives to the construction contract agreement with Conrad Construction Co., Ltd. for the Downtown Revitalization Plan - Park Avenue Reconstruction Project (ED1503) in an amount not to exceed $37,512.89 (Director of Budget & Project Management)
Background:
If approved, this resolution will authorize a third and fourth work change directive with Conrad Construction Co., Ltd., in an amount not to exceed $37,512.89.
On February 12, 2019, Council approved a construction contract agreement with Conrad Construction Co., Ltd to perform construction phase services related to the Downtown Revitalization Plan - Park Avenue Reconstruction Project (ED1503) in the amount of $1,050,160.19. On May 3, 2019, the first work change directive was executed to allow for needed drainage improvements involving two 24-Inch storm lines and an 8-Inch water line, in an amount not to exceed $32,452.19. On September 4, 2019, the second work change directive was executed to allow for resetting the storm sewer line near Wilkins Street to allow for adequate drainage near the intersection, in an amount not to exceed $5,290.00. The current contract totals $1,088,160.19.
The first and second work change directive were approved by staff previously and total $37,742.19. The third and fourth work change directives are being presented to City Council as the total of the four change orders is $75,255.08.
The third work change directive will authorize construction work for changes associated with a service relocation/modification, in an amount not to exceed $30,929.14. Work includes adding additional conduit and wiring; and removing and replacing driveway pavement for an open cut trench. This work is needed as the proposed meter location as noted in the plans was not to TNMP’s requirements.
