Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a change order to the construction contract of King Solutions related to the Annual Sanitary Sewer Rehab project (WW1801E) in an amount not to exceed $99,356.40 (Executive Director of Capital Projects)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize funding for a change order to the construction contract of King Solutions related to the Annual Sanitary Sewer Rehab Project (WW1801E).
This project is part of a systematic evaluation and rehab of sanitary sewer lines throughout the City. The scope of this project consists of providing engineering design and construction administration services associated with the rehabilitation of approximately 14,500 linear feet of 6-inch thru 18-inch sanitary sewers in Ellis Landing and Newport Subdivisions. Rehabilitation of sanitary sewer lines in lift station basins LC-09, LC-19, and LC-22 and manholes identified in the 2017 Wastewater System Evaluation Report performed by the City that need rehabilitation are also included in the project scope. Repairs to two manholes with infiltration along Butler Rd are also included.
Currently, $63,103.60 remains unused on the active contract. Additional scope is being requested as below:
1. $33,030 for repair of 60” storm water pipe failure at 2704 W Nasa Road
2. $20,500 to repair 150 linear ft of 8” PVC sanitary line and abandon two sanitary manholes.
3. $108,930.00 to remove and replace 50 linear ft of 48” storm pipe as well as 50 linear ft of 36” storm pipe (upgrade to 48”), removal and replacement of 1 manhole, installation of 5ft diameter precast storm box & inlet, and slope paving/grading around manholes.
The first two items can be executed with the unused funds in the original contract, with $9,573.60 remaining. Additional funds requested to cover the total cost of all three items is $99,356.40 which is available from the construction’s contingency.
