Background:
Approval of this item will authorize Change Order No. 3 with WadeCon, LLC. for the Right-Turn Lane at League City Pkwy and Hobbs Rd Project (ST2002) in an amount of $25,258.00. This will be the final payment and will close project.

On June 23, 2020, City Council awarded the construction contract for the Right-Turn Lane at League City Pkwy and Hobbs Rd Project (ST2002) to WadeCon, LLC. in the amount of $307,619.00.

A Change Order No. 1 at a net zero dollar value was issued to change the proposed pavement section. Due to a restricted workspace and to expedite putting traffic back on Hobbs Road, contractor, City, and Engineer worked together and replaced the proposed 8” concrete pavement on 8” of lime stabilized subgrade with 11” fast track concrete pavement on existing proof rolled subgrade.

Change Order No. 2, in the amount of $25,926.12 was approved administratively on May 11, 2022. This Change Order consisted of final adjustments to construction bid items, including additional traffic control devices due to school, concrete pavement, pavement marking and some miscellaneous traffic signal cables. The $25,926.12 was transferred from the City Council-approved work change directive budget to the construction fund balance.

To close out the contract, City has been negotiating with WadeCon on the amount and method of payment for the additional Type B Sidewalk which includes a variable height retaining wall on back side of it. This Change Order No. 3 consists of an additional 158.79 SY of Concrete Sidewalks (Type B).
