Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a variance to Chapter 10 of the City of League City Code of Ordinances to allow for a liquor store at 4550 W. League City Parkway, League City, Texas, Suite #240, that is less than 300 feet from the property line of a daycare (City Secretary)
Background:
Approval of this variance will allow for a liquor store to be located at 4550 W. League City Parkway, Suite 240, League City, Texas that is 224 feet from a daycare property line.
Project Summary:
Under Chapter 10 of the League City Code of Ordinances, a business is prohibited from selling alcohol if there is less than 300 feet from a church, public school, public hospital or daycare center (Section 10-1). Property line shall mean the line along the ground surface and its vertical extension, which separates the real property owned, leased or occupied by one person from that owned, leased or occupied by another person and the imaginary line which represents the legal limits of property of any person who owns, leases or otherwise occupies an apartment, condominium, hotel or motel room, office or any other type of occupancy (Section 10-8).
