Background:
Approval of this item will authorize a Utility Construction Services Study Agreement with CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, LLC. for the relocation of the Electrical Transmission, Distribution and Communication facilities as part of the North Extension of Landing Blvd Project (ST1914) in the amount of $250,000. This relocation of the transmission tower is necessary due to a conflict with the proposed retaining wall leading up to the bridge crossing over the Clear Creek.

The nonrefundable fee of $250,000 will allow CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric to perform an analysis of the conflict and design a resolution with the associated estimated construction cost. The Engineering Study and design will be completed within six (6) months after receipt of the Study Fee from the City. Upon completion of the Engineering Study, CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric will notify the City of its findings and estimated construction cost, schedule, and need for easements and permitting. The City will have 60 days after its receipt of results and findings to execute a Construction Services Agreement for the CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric to complete the relocation of the transmission tower. The City will be responsible for all costs associated with this relocation.
