Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a three-year contract with DBS Texas-Houston for recreation program shirts and uniforms in an amount not to exceed $278,829.15 (Director of Parks & Cultural Services)
Background:
If approved, this item will authorize a new three-year contract with DBS Texas-Houston to provide uniforms for recreation staff, programs and events. DBS Texas-Houston is currently under contract to provide uniforms for all recreation staff, programs and events. The existing contract expires September 30, 2024. The cost of the uniforms is built into the registration cost and passed on to the participant. The Recreation Department is expected to receive an estimated $500,000 in revenue annually from the recreation programs that require uniforms and shirts.
Five proposals were received in response to solicitation 24-040 Athletic Uniforms and Shirts. Each proposal was carefully reviewed by the evaluation committee comprised of City Staff. After the review of proposals, DBS Texas-Houston clearly had the highest rated proposal based on qualifications and experience, project methodology and design, references, and price by being the lowest bidder.
An estimated 5,000 participants will participate in these programs during the fiscal year. The amount is consistent within the budget allocation for FY25, with $41,754 being paid out of the general fund and $51,189 being paid for out of the 4B budget.
This agreement is eligible for two (2) - one (1) year renewals.
