Consider and take action on a resolution ratifying the sale of a 1998 Ingersoll Rand Air Compressor (Director of Finance)
Background:
Approval of this item will ratify the disposal of a surplus 1998 Ingersoll Rand Air Compressor.
Per Chapter 2, Article VI, section 2-301 of the City of League City Code of Ordinances, before any property of the City is sold or offered for sale, the property shall first be declared surplus property.
The purchasing department must obtain approval from either the City Manager or the City Council for each individual piece of personal property before disposing of the property. The City Manager may approve the disposal of all individual pieces of personal property valued at less than $5,000. The City Council shall approve the disposal of all individual pieces at or above $5,000. This item was first evaluated to be valued below $5,000 which is within the City Manager's authority to designated as surplus, however the item was auctioned for $5,900; therefore staff is requesting City Council ratify the sale to comply with the City Ordinance.

By using Purple Wave, we are significantly increasing the number of bidders our auction items reach, with item views exceeding 100 views per item. Purple Wave partners with Copart, a global provider of online vehicle auction services, which ensures our surplus vehicles and heavy equipment reach our target audience on a mass scale.
