Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a professional services agreement with EHRA Engineering, to provide design and construction phase services related to the Maple Leaf and League City Parkway Traffic Signal Project (ST2403) in an amount not to exceed $161,250 (Executive Director of Capital Projects)
Background
Approval of this resolution will authorize funding for a professional services agreement with EHRA Engineering for the design and construction phase services related to the Maple Leaf and League City Pkwy Traffic Signal Project.
While the intersection does not currently meet the warrants to justify the need for a traffic signal, the City’s planned growth on the Southwest side and the planned League City Parkway connection to the City of Friendswood, the volume of traffic will create the need for a traffic signal at this intersection. Project scope also includes intersection geometric improvements.
Design phase anticipated to take approximately 280 days to complete, excluding City review periods. Bid and Construction phases are anticipated to take 165 days, weather permitting. EHRA Engineering tasks and fees are outlines as follows:
1.0 Basic Services
Part A: Design $ 104,850.00
Part B: Bidding Phase $ 8,000.00
Part C: Construction Phase $ 20,000.00
Part D: Direct Expenses $ 2,500.00
Subtotal for Basic Services $ 135,350.00
2.0 Special Services
Part A: Topographic Survey $ 16,000.00
Part B: Geotechnical Services (Cost Plus 10%) $ 9,900.00
Subtotal for Special Services $ 25,900.00
Total, Not to Exceed Fee $ 161,250.00
