Title

Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a professional services agreement with Kimley-Horn, to provide design, bid, and construction phase services related to the FM 2094 (Marina Bay Dr) at Wildcat Way (Stadium) Traffic Signal Rebuild Project (RE1703C) in an amount not to exceed $97,500 (Executive Director of Capital Projects)

Background:

Approval of this resolution will authorize a professional services agreement with Kimley-Horn to provide design, bid, and construction phase services related to the FM 2094 (Marina Bay Dr) at Wildcat Way (Stadium) Traffic Signal Rebuild Project (RE1703C) in an amount not to exceed $97,500.

The traffic signal at this intersection was identified for replacement due to the following reasons:

1.                     Improve infrastructure resiliency during storms and hurricanes, which will allow traffic signal to be back in operation in a much shorter amount of time after a storm.

2.                     Reduce maintenance cost and emergency call outs for service.

3.                     Enhances and updates controls and operational functionality of the signal.

4.                     Bring the signal up to the current approved standards which assist with the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians.
