Title

Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a construction contract with Wameco Construction LLC for the Constellation Lift Station Rehabilitation Project (WW1901H), in amount of $796,050, and authorizing an additional $79,600 for a Work Change Directive budget, for a total construction budget of $875,650 (Executive Director of Capital Projects)

Background:

Approval of this resolution will authorize the award of a construction contract to Wameco Construction LLC for the Constellation Lift Station Rehabilitation Project (WW1901H), in amount of $796,050, and authorizing an additional $79,600 for a Work Change Directive budget, for a total construction budget of $875,650.

The project is part of City’s annual program that systematically re-builds and rehabilitates older lift stations. The purpose of this project is to convert the above-ground pump station to a submersible pump station for improved reliability and safety.  This lift station was constructed in the early 1980’s and is a critical station serving a large area.  The proposed rehabilitation consists of but not limited to:

-                     Conversion of existing self-priming pump configuration to a submersible pump configuration

-                     New pumps and suction piping

-                     New controls and electrical system

-                     Structural modifications

-                     New hatches and safety gear

-                     New discharge piping and valves.

-                     Rehabilitation and coating of existing we well

-                     Bypass pump during construction

Seven (7) sealed bids for the project were received on September 30, 2026 (Bid No. 26-025).  Based on the City’s A+B bidding method, bids and contract times received, Wameco Construction LLC submitted the lowest responsible and responsive cost value bid in amount of $796,050 and 210 calendar days to final completion.  Attached is the City’s engineering consultant’s recommendation of award and the bid tabulation.
