Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing an agreement with King’s Vending Solutions, Inc. for vending machine services for the following locations: Helen Hall Public Library, the City of League City Community Center, Lynn Gripon Park at Countryside Pavilion, and Hometown Heroes Park & Recreation Center (Director of Parks and Cultural Services)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize an agreement with King’s Vending Services for vending machine services for the following locations: Helen Hall Public Library, the City of League City Community Center, Lynn Gripon Park at Countryside Pavilion and Hometown Heroes Park & Recreation Center, with the option to renew for two (2) additional one-year periods.
The RFP covers facilities within the Parks & Cultural Services Directorate and focuses on sales to the general public. Today, Hometown Heroes Park & Recreation Center is the only operating facility with vending machines within Parks & Cultural Services.
Two (2) bids, under RFP #25-010, were received on May 12, 2025. The two (2) sealed proposals were evaluated on references and experience, project methodology, type and variety of goods, data collection ability, percentage of gross revenue paid to the city, and pricing of goods. King’s Vending Services scored the highest overall score of 384.
Vending machines are owned, operated and maintained by the vendor. The vendor will provide the City of League City 15% commission for gross sales, which are estimated at $116,000 per year resulting in $17,400 per year in commission payments to the City.
