Title:

Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a professional services agreement with Kimley-Horn for design and construction phase services related to the Newport Park Redevelopment (PK2401) in an amount not to exceed $113,300 (Executive Director of Capital Projects)

 

Background:

Approval of this resolution will authorize the award of a professional services agreement to Kimley-Horn to perform the design and construction phase services related to the Newport Park Redevelopment Project (PK2401)

 

The purpose of this project is to continue to upgrade existing park facilities as outlined in the 2017 Parks, Trails, and Open Space Plan.   The 9-acre park was dedicated to the City in 2005 from the Newport Community Association.  The project will include a 6’ wide trail system, improvement to the existing parking lot lighting, adding a new play feature and shade structure to the existing playground, and adding a volleyball court.

  

Kimley-Horn has submitted a proposal to perform Design, Bid & Award, and Construction Phase services for a budget not to exceed $113,300, which includes the following:

Design phase is proposed be completed within 196 days, excluding City review periods.

 

The amount budgeted in the FY2024-2028 Adopted CIP for design phase services was $100,000. The additional $13,300 will come from available Park Dedication Fee fund balance.
