Consider and take action to purchase auto parts and supplies for city vehicles and equipment from O'Reilly Auto Parts through the BuyBoard cooperative contract, at an estimated annual expense of $75,000 (Director of Finance)
Background:
Approval of this item will authorize the purchase of auto parts and supplies from O'Reilly Auto Parts utilizing the purchasing power of the BuyBoard cooperative contract. This contract provides excellent pricing as well as compliance with state bidding law.
Our current contract for auto parts and supplies was awarded to O'Reilly Auto Parts on March 27, 2012 and was subsequently renewed for two (2) additional one (1) year periods. The pricing that was submitted on that solicitation was the same pricing offered utilizing the BuyBoard contract. All products carried by O'Reilly are included in this contract at a discount off 41% or better off of their online catalog pricing. Utilizing the BuyBoard contract gives us the advantage of earning a rebate on our quarterly purchases with O'Reilly Auto Parts based upon a calculated percentage by BuyBoard.
Based on price, delivery history and customer service, the recommendation is to approve the use of the BuyBoard contract for auto parts and supplies through O'Reilly Auto Parts.
