Consider and take action on acceptance of a driveway and parking lot easement from Texas New Mexico Power Company to serve the Chester L. Davis Sportsplex (Deputy City Manager)
Background:
Approval of this item will accept a driveway and parking lot easement from Texas New Mexico Power Company (TNMP) for the extension of a driveway to Walker Street and parking lot area to serve the Chester L. Davis Sportsplex.
The City is in need of the easement for the purpose of constructing a parking lot and driveway access, from the Sportsplex to Walker Street, on and across property owned by TNMP. At the Regular City Council Meeting of May 24, 2016, Council authorized a Professional Services Agreement with ARKK Engineers to perform the engineering design services related to the driveway and parking lot to serve the Sportsplex. This easement is required as a portion of the project to provide access to Walker Street.
TNMP’s legal staff prepared the easement agreement and the City Attorney has approved TNMP has agreed to provide this easement at no cost to the City.
