Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize a Professional Services Agreement with Sander Engineering Corporation for the design, bid, and construction phase services related to the Constellation Lift Station Rehabilitation (WW1901H) in an amount not to exceed $119,500.
The project is part of an annual program that systematically re-builds and rehabilitates older lift stations. The purpose of this project is to convert the above-ground pump station to submersible-pump station for improved reliability and safety. This site is one of the lift stations constructed in the early 1980’s and a critical station serving a large area. The proposed rehabilitation shall consist of but not limited to: conversion of the existing self-priming pump configuration to a standard submersible lift station configuration, new pumps and piping, new controls and electrical, structural modifications, new hatches and safety gear, new discharge piping and valves, coating of existing wet well, and bypassing.
Sander Engineering Corporation scope includes preliminary and final design, bid phase, and construction phase services. Project fees breakdown is as follows:
1. Preliminary & Design Phases $ 78,000
2. Bid-Phase Services $ 6,000
3. Construction Phase Services $ 15,000
4. Topo Surveying & Mapping $ 18,500
5. Reimbursable Project Expenses $ 2,000
Total $ 119,500
Construction is budgeted in the CIP in FY2026 as part of the Annual Lift Station Improvements. The current pre-design estimated construction cost is $809,000.
