Title

Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing an agreement with Pump Solutions, Inc. for the repair and installation of re-lift pump No. 4 located at the Dallas Salmon Wastewater Treatment Plant (DSWWTP) in an amount not to exceed $57,824 (Director of Public Works)

Background:

Approval of this item will authorize the agreement with Pump Solutions, Inc. for the repair and installation of re-lift pump No. 4 located at the Dallas Salmon Wastewater Treatment Plant (DSWWTP) in an amount not to exceed $57,824.

Re-lift Pump No. 4 is one of five 50-horsepower vertical turbine pumps that provide firm capacity conveyance at the Dallas Street Wastewater Treatment Plant (DSWWTP). Installed in 2010, the pump has been in service for approximately 16 years and has experienced failure of key components, including the bearings, seal, and impeller shaft. Repair is necessary to restore reliable operation.

The DSWWTP serves approximately 80 percent of League City’s sanitary sewer system. Maintaining full pump capacity is critical to ensuring regulatory compliance, particularly during high-flow weather events.

The estimated cost to replace the pump is $466,000, compared to a repair cost of $57,824. The significant cost savings support the recommendation to repair rather than replace the unit. This repair was anticipated and funded in the approved Fiscal Year 2026 Budget.

Pump Solutions, Inc. is the authorized sole-source provider and will perform the repair work.
