Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a one-year contract renewal (Bid #15-012) with Century Asphalt for hot mix asphalt for a total amount not to exceed $50,000 (Assistant City Manager)
Background:
Approval of this resolution, will authorize a contract renewal (Bid #15-012) to Century Asphalt for Hot Mix Asphalt in the estimated amount of $50,000 for a contract period of one (1) year beginning October 1, 2016 . This is the second and final contract renewal with this vendor.
Hot mix asphalt is a combination of approximately 95% stone, sand or gravel bound together by asphalt cement that is used for re-surfacing and patching existing roads.
Century is the City’s current provider of hot mix asphalt. They have agreed to renew their contract for the existing price of $53.90 per ton.
