Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing additional expenditures under the City's group vision insurance agreement with Davis Vision, Inc., for associated costs through the remainder of the agreement term (Director of HR and Civil Service)
Background:
Approval of this item will authorize additional funding for the existing agreement with Davis Vision, Inc. to provide sufficient funding for FY2027 vision benefits.
On September 12, 2023, City Council approved Resolution No. 2023-127 authorizing a four-year renewal agreement with Davis Vision, Inc. for vision benefits. The agreement commenced October 1, 2023 and expires September 30, 2027.
Costs under the agreement were expected to be $193,536 with $182,040.32 spent over 3 years (from FY2024 through FY2026 - an average of $60,680 per year). The remaining contract funding through September 30, 2027 (FY2027) is $11,496.
Approximately $65,000 is anticipated for FY2027 vision costs. Additional City Council authorization is requested to provide sufficient funding for the final year of the existing agreement.
CONTRACT ORIGINATION: The existing agreement was reviewed by the City Attorney’s Office.
