Title
Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing the purchase of a Rapid Medical Response UTV in an amount not to exceed $84,067.50 (Fire Chief)
Background:
Approval of this item will allow for the purchase of (1) Rapid Medical Response UTV.
On January 28, 2025, City Council approved resolution 2025-12 to ratify the submission of a grant application in the amount of $78,908.00 to the FY2025 Houston Urban Area Security Initiative for the purchase of one (1) Rapid Medical Response UTV. This Rapid Medical Response UTV will be used for any event where tight maneuverability is needed when an ambulance cannot fit.
On, June 4, 2026, the HS-Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) awarded the City of League City $55,484.00 of the $78,908.00 that was initially applied for. Due to the federal shutdown, grant awards that were anticipated in October 2025 were significantly delayed. As a result of the funding delay and subsequent manufacturer price increases, the updated quote from FarrWest is now $84,067.50. Clear Creek ISD has agreed to contribute $23,423.75 toward this purchase. The remaining $5,159.75 will be funded through the FY2026 EMS Equipment Budget.
