Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a professional services agreement with EHRA Engineering, to provide design, bid, and construction phase services related to the Traffic Signal Reconstruction at Lawrence Rd and Village Way Project (RE1703B) in an amount not to exceed $96,970 (Executive Director of Capital Projects)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize a professional services agreement with EHRA Engineering for the design, bid, and construction phase services related to the Traffic Signal Reconstruction at Lawrence Rd and Village Way Project in an amount not to exceed $96,970.
The traffic signal at this intersection was identified for replacement due to the following reasons:
1. Bring the signals up to the current approved standards which assist with the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians
2. Beautify the City by converting the current span wires that the signals currently hang to new mast arms
3. Improve infrastructure resilience during storms and hurricanes, which will allow traffic signals to be back in operation in a shorter amount of time after a storm
4. Reduce maintenance cost and emergency call outs for service
Design phase anticipated to take approximately 195 days to complete, excluding City review periods. Bid and Construction phases are anticipated to take 150 days, weather permitting. EHRA Engineering tasks and fees are outlines as follows:
1.0 Basic Services
Part A: Design $54,900.00
Part B: Bidding Phase $8,000.00
Part C: Construction Phase $15,000.00
Part D: Direct Expenses $1,500.00
Subtotal for Basic Services $79,400.00
2.0 Special Services
Part A: Topographic Survey $17,570.00
Subtotal for Special Services $17,570.00
Total, Not to Exceed Fee $96,970.00
