Consider and take action on a resolution setting the dates for conducting FY2027 Budget and CIP work session meetings during the months of July and August 2026 (City Manager)
Background:
Approval of this item will set dates for the FY2027 Budget and CIP work session meetings to be held during the months of July and August 2026.
Staff anticipates presenting the FY2027 Proposed Budget, Budget Line Item Detail, and the FY2027-2031 CIP documents to City Council at the July 14, 2026 regular Council meeting.
Based on the past two years’ schedules, below are proposed dates for the FY2027 Budget & CIP work sessions. All work sessions are proposed to be held at 5pm in Council Chambers, prior to a 6pm Council meeting.
Work Session #1 on July 28, 2026 - Overview of FY2027 Proposed Budget
Work Session #2 on August 11, 2026 - Overview of FY2027-2031 CIP & Report on Tax Roll
Work Session #3 on August 25, 2026 - Outstanding Questions
If during the process additional time is required, additional meetings can be scheduled. The City Manager and staff are available to meet with Councilmembers anytime during the budget process. Staff anticipates making available for Council a Budget Overview power point presentation with voice over narrative prior to the first work session.
