Background:
Approval of this item will order a General Election for the City of League City on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, to elect the Mayor and Council Members to Positions 1, 2, 6 and 7; ordering a Runoff Election on Saturday, December 12, 2026, if necessary.
According to Section 3.005 of the Texas Election Code, an election ordered by an authority of a political subdivision shall be ordered not later than the 78th day before the election. In 2026 the 78th day before the election is Monday, August 17, 2026.
