Title:
Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing an agreement with A&O Design and Production Co. to design and paint a mural on a City water tank located at the intersection of 3rd St. and Railroad Avenue in an amount not to exceed $65,000 (Director of Communications and Community Engagement)

Background:
Approval of this item will authorize funding for local artist Anat Ronan to design and paint an approximately 1,700 square foot mural on a city-owned water tank located behind League Park. Ronan has painted several other murals for the City including five traffic signal boxes and a large-scale mural at the League City Community Garden located at Hometown Heroes Park.

The mural will be part of the City’s Public Art Initiative and will be paid for using CVB Hotel Occupancy Tax dollars. A total of $100,000 is allocated in the CVB budget each year for Public Art. Funds from this budget have been used in the past to pay for other public art installations in League City, including the two story, “city entryway” mural painted on the side of a shopping plaza located at the intersection of FM 518 and the I-45 feeder road.

About the Public Art Initiative
The League City Public Art Initiative, launched in 2021, supports local visual and performing artists while helping shape a unique sense of place for the community. Through public art installations and creative programming, the initiative invites residents and visitors to our City to experience, explore, and connect with the arts throughout our community.

Since its launch, the Public Art Initiative has brought more than 60 installations to life across League City-from murals and sculptures to creatively painted traffic signal boxes. These works are actively promoted to visitors through a variety of channels, including a digital Public Art Tour on the Convention and Visitors Bureau’s (CVB) mobile app and website. In 2025, art-related content on VisitLeagueCity.com had 724 views and 1,400 engagements. O...
