Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a two-year agreement with Thirkettle DBA Aqua Metric Sales Company for the purchase of new water meters and meter parts for Fiscal Year 2026 and Fiscal Year 2027 for an amount not to exceed $1,715,000 (Director of Finance)
Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize the purchase of water meters for new accounts and parts for existing meters. Meter purchase, maintenance, and installation is an ongoing function as new home and business construction continues throughout League City.
The products offered match our existing brand of equipment for compatibility. Aqua-Metric Sales Company is the only authorized distributor of Sensus products and services in Texas; therefore, this purchase is exempt from the competitive bidding statutes in accordance with the Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 252. Aqua-Metric Sales Company is also a member of the HGAC Cooperative Purchasing program. Aqua-Metric Sales Company presents a quote for our preferred products that is less than the HGAC Cooperative Purchase Program.
