Consider and take action on a resolution approving an amendment to the agreement with Thirkettle, DBA Aqua Metric Sales Company, to increase total compensation by $265,000 for the purchase of new meters and meter parts for maintenance on existing meters in the City of League City (Finance Director)
Background:
Approval of this item will authorize an amendment of $265,000 to the existing agreement with Thirkettle, DBA Aqua Metric Sales Company, for the continued provision of new meters and meter parts for maintenance on existing meters in the City of League City.
City Council approved the original agreement of $416,000 by Resolution 2025-44 on February 25, 2025. If approved, this amendment increases the agreement by $265,000 for a total of $681,000 for FY2025.
The products offered match our existing brand of equipment for compatibility. Aqua-Metric Sales Company is the only authorized distributor of Sensus products and services in Texas; therefore, this purchase is exempt from the competitive bidding statutes in accordance with the Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 252. Aqua-Metric Sales Company is also a member of the HGAC Cooperative Purchasing program. Aqua-Metric Sales Company presents a quote for our preferred products that is less than the HGAC Cooperative Purchase Program.
