Title

Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing Change Order 1 to the construction contract with Wilson Building Services, Inc. related to the Main Street (FM 518) Sidewalk Improvements Phase 1 Project (RE2301A), in the amount of $81,050.92. (Executive Director of Capital Projects)

Background:

Approval of this resolution will authorize a Change Order 1 in the amount of $81,050.92 to the construction contract with Wilson Building Services, Inc. for the Main Street (FM 518) Sidewalk Improvements Phase 1 Project (RE2301A).  Project scope was to fill sidewalk gaps along the north and south sides of Main Street corridor from Iowa Ave. to Texas Ave.

The construction contract in the amount of $324,461.00 was awarded to Wilson Building Services, Inc. on March 26, 2024, along with authorizing a budget of $32,446.00 for work change directives. The City of League City invested the contract funds from the annual non-competitive Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).  The well-developed corridor required additional sidewalk and ramp quantities due to field condition.  Additionally, more removal and replacement of existing driveways were necessary to provide a safer pedestrian passage across and meet ADA requirements.   Also, more decomposed granite sidewalks and bridge sidewalk plates were placed.
