Title
Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing a Permanent Sanitary Sewer Easement between Dickinson Water Control and Improvement District (WCID) and the City of League City, Texas for a 20-foot-wide easement located along the north right-of-way of FM 517 West (Director of Public Works)
Background:
Approval of this item will authorize the Permanent Sanitary Sewer Easement between Dickinson Water Control and Improvement District (WCID) and the City of League City, Texas for a 20-foot-wide easement located along the north right-of-way of 401 FM 517 West and 371 FM 517 West.
Water and sanitary sewer services have been provided by Dickinson WCID (the District) to 401 FM 517 West and 371 FM 517 West-a one-story, multi-unit office building and an adjacent metal building-since 1985. Since 2001, the District has billed the City of League City (the City), and the City has, in turn, billed the property owners and occupants directly.
The City will soon be able to provide sanitary sewer service to these properties by redirecting an existing 8-inch sanitary sewer line into the City’s gravity sewer system located on Dove Meadows Drive. A recent survey confirmed that this 8-inch line is owned by the District, as it lies within a 20-foot District easement parallel and immediately adjacent to the north right-of-way line of FM 517 West.
Upon connection of the 8-inch line to the City’s system, the City will assume ownership and maintenance of the line. At that time, the District will discontinue billing the City for out-of-district sanitary sewer services to these properties.
The District acknowledges that the now City-owned 8-inch gravity sewer line will remain within its 20-foot easement and has no objection, provided it does not interfere with the District’s existing 36-inch sanitary sewer line located within the same easement. If interference occurs, the City will be responsible for relocating the 8-inch line.
This Permanent Sanitary Sewer Easement...
