Title
Consider and take action on an ordinance amending Chapter 114, Utilities, to add Section 114-6, authorizing the termination of water service for certain health and safety violations (City Manager)

Staff requests approval on first and final reading.

· Give property owners or renters the chance to appeal the shut off by submitting proof or documents
· Require that the problem be fixed and all fees paid before the water can be turned back on
· Let the City choose to issue a warning or fine instead of shutting off water in some cases
· Protect the City from lawsuits if it acts in good faith to protect public health
· Work alongside other laws and regulations to fix dangerous conditions

Why It Matters?
This rule helps keep everyone safe. It gives t...
