Consider and take action on an ordinance amending Chapter 14 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of League City, entitled “Amusements and Entertainments”, to repeal Article III, entitled “Standard Amusement Devices” (City Attorney)

Background:
This item will repeal Article III, entitled "Standard Amusement Devices" of Chapter 14, entitled "Amusements and Entertainments".
In 1985, the City adopted Article III to incorporate the "Standard Amusement Device Code of 1985" into the City's Code of Ordinances to regulate amusement rides and devices.
In 1999, the Texas Legislature created and codified such provisions into Chapter 2151 of the Texas Occupations Code, also known as the "Amusement Ride Safety Inspection and Insurance Act". As state law now regulates amusement rides and devices, the City no longer has need of Article III of Chapter 14.
