Consider and take action on an ordinance increasing the membership and clarifying the provisions of the Sunset Review Committee (Mayor Long, Council Member Mann, Council Member Crews)

Background:

Approval of this item will increase the membership of the Sunset Commission from 8 members to 9 members and clarify certain membership provisions of the League City Sunset Commission. 

 

On April 13, 2021, the City Council created the League City Sunset Commission for the purpose of studying the functions of the City’s various boards and commissions.  The goal of the Commission is the increase efficiency, reduce duplication of effort and eliminate waste in the City’s operation. 

 

This ordinance will clarify the membership requirements for the Commission’s members. 

 

Membership Requirements:

- Seat 1: Finance Director

- Seat 2: City Attorney

- Seat 3: City Auditor

- Seats 4 & 5: Council Members

- Seats 6, 7, 8 & 9: Citizens
