Background:
Approval of this resolution will authorize the award of the construction contract with Reddico Construction Company, Inc. for the Harbour Park 1 Lift Station Expansion to 3 MGD Project (WW2203), in an amount not to exceed $2,701,916.20 and authorizing an additional $270,192.00 for a Work Change Directive budget, for a total construction budget of $2,972,108.20.
This project was identified in the 2018 Wastewater Master Plan and further evaluated in a Feasibility Study performed in 2023. Feasibility Study was conducted to assess current condition and define the scope for the project to increase the firm pumping capacity of the lift station from 1.6 MGD to 3.0 MGD. Study also looked at possible increase of size of an incoming 445 feet of gravity sewer from 18” to 21”. Upon completion of the Study and budget appropriation, staff opted to do a phased implementation of improvements. The initial phase which is the scope of this authorization is to expand the station capacity to 3 MGD and remove and replace 45 feet of 18” gravity sewer with 21” line in front of the station. Project also includes an odor control system, ornamental fencing, and auxiliary generator for emergency power. The proposed improvements will reduce surcharge during extreme weather events and allow the City to maintain regulatory compliance regarding Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSO’s).
