Title
Consider and take action on Ordinance 2025-18 annexing approximately 80.45 acres of land owned by Martron, LLC, J.A.C. Interests, Ltd., and Ellen Lloyd Cummins into the corporate limits of League City, Texas - Second Reading (City Attorney)
Council approved first reading 7-1-0 on May 27, 2025.
Background:
This ordinance officially adds 80.45 acres of land into the League City city limits. The property, owned by Martron, LLC, J.A.C. Interests, Ltd., and Ellen Lloyd Cummins, was previously located in the City's extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) just outside the city. The owners asked the City to annex the land, and the City agreed.
League City signed a municipal services agreement to provide city services to the area. As required by law, the City gave notice about the annexation to the local school district and other public agencies. A public hearing was held on May 27, 2025, to allow anyone interested to speak or ask questions. This ordinance confirms that all legal steps have been followed and instructs city staff to update maps and notify government agencies and utility providers that the land is now officially part of the city.
