Title
Consider and take action on a resolution authorizing the purchase of a Rapid Medical Response UTV in an amount not to exceed $75,384.75 (Fire Chief)
Background:

On January 24, 2023, City Council approved resolution 2023-10 to ratify the submission of a grant application in the amount of $74,400 to the FY2023 Houston Urban Area Security Initiative for the purchase of one (1) Rapid Medical Response UTV. The League City Fire Department - EMS Division currently has one (1) Rapid Medical Response UTV in service. An additional UTV would allow for the EMS division to deploy both UTV’s to multiple events at the same time.

On, September 26, 2023, the HS-Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) awarded the City of League City $65,220.47 of the $74,400 that was initially applied for. During the FY2024 budget planning process, the funding for the cost difference was allocated from the Special Revenue Fund - Fire/EMS Donation Fund.

The grant application was based of an estimate that was received in December of 2022, which was when the application for this project were completed. At the time a 10% increase was factored into the original quote, to account for any price increases knowing it would be approximately 1 year before funding and procurement would take place from the time the original quote was received. During the procurement process, the total cost of the Rapid Medical Response UTV was $75,384.75 which was $984.75 more than originally estimated. The additional $984.75 is available from budgeted funds in the Special Revenue Fund - Fire/EMS.
