Consider and take action to excuse absences (City Secretary)
Background:
Approval of this item will excuse the absence of Council Member Mann from the July 14 Workshop and Regular Meeting. Council Member Mann was absent due to his unavailability while on vacation.
From the City Charter, Article II, Section 7 entitled "Failure to attend meetings" states "Any member of the City Council remaining absent for three (3) consecutive meetings of the City Council of any kind, including regular meetings, special meetings or workshops, unless absence is excused by a simply majority of the City Council for a reason found to be justifiable by the City Council, shall be determined to have vacated his office, which vacancy shall be filled in accordance with the Charter. Without limiting the grounds for justifiable absence, sickness or leave of absence obtained in advance at a regular meeting, shall be deemed justifiable grounds for failure to attend a meeting."
